2022-2023 Eagles Impact Report

DIGITAL EDUCATION The Eagles partner with organizations on a variety of interactive programs that help to broaden the knowledge and leadership skills of students in the region. These connections are made online through programs such as Character Playbook, 306 Program, Playbook for Wellness, STEM Scholars Program, and the Firstrust Bank Entrepreneurs Game Plan program.

306 PROGRAM The 306 Program, powered by EVERFI, is an immersive educational tool that delivers African-American history to students in an engaging way. Many important aspects and traditions of American life have been directly influenced by the trailblazing path forged by African-American pioneers. This program takes participants on a historical journey, highlighting the visionaries of this era and their mark on American art, entertainment, science, academics, and the social movement.

UNDERSTANDING MENTAL WELLNESS Understanding Mental Wellness intro– duces students to concepts related to mental health, from the science of mental health to coping and help-seeking strategies. Increasing mental health literacy is linked to decreased stigma, increased help-seeking behavior, and more awareness of mental health resources. This year’s program reached 2,350 students in 32 schools for 2,033 hours of learning.

STEM SCHOLARS PROGRAM To inspire the next generation of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) leaders, the Eagles and Braskem have launched the STEM Scholars Program in Philadelphia-area schools. Through the team’s multi-year sustainabil- ity-focused partnership with Braskem, students are equipped with the tools needed to become engaged and productive leaders in society. The program also encourages students to collect and recycle bottle caps through a “Capetition,” which highlights the benefits of closed-loop recycling and environmental sustainability.

CHARACTER PLAYBOOK Character Playbook, powered by EVERFI and in partnership with the United Way, is an innovative digital learning experience that uses evidence-based strategies to educate students on how to cultivate and maintain healthy relationships. Eagles players annually participate in Character Playbook virtual sessions with area-based schools to teach students the basic principles of conflict resolution and positive character development to support their overall growth during the most critical years.
