YOUTH FOOTBALL CHAMPIONS DAY The Philadelphia Eagles invited local junior Football national champions to Lincoln Financial Field 11U West Philly Panthers, the 10U vv Young Whippets, and the 12U Downingtown Young Whippets, to celebrate winning the
championship for their respective divisions. The teams were able to take a tour that included stops in the locker room, interview room, and an opportunity to meet Eagles offensive tackle Jordan Mailata.
NFL FOUNDATION GRASSROOTS PROGRAM The Eagles, through the National Football League Foundation Grassroots Program and Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), awarded a $250,000 grant to the Public Health Management Corporation and City of Philadelphia for the installation of a new synthetic playing surface at North Philadelphia’s Olney Recreation Center. The grant was made possible through the NFL Foundation Grassroots Program, which has supported the construction or renovation of 431 football fields nationwide since 1998.
MOBILE JUNIOR PRO CLINICS
EAGLES REGIONAL FLAG FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT The Eagles hosted the annual NFL FLAG Football Regional Tournament, with the winning teams advancing to the NFL FLAG Championships at the Pro Bowl Games. Eagles Legends, SWOOP, Eagles Cheerleaders, and the Eagles Drumline were all in attendance to support the participating teams. Each athlete received Eagles club jerseys, and official flag belts.
The Eagles activated their Mobile Junior Pro Clinic – an introductory football session designed specifically for children in the elementary and middle school age bracket – more than 36 times this past school year. Teaching kids ages 6-12 how to play the game while intereacting with SWOOP and Eagles Legend Jason Avant. Each school received an NFL Flag kit to continue their Flag football activities in school.
