2022-2023 Eagles Impact Report

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that one in 36 people living in the United States are on the autism spectrum. While it has become one of the fastest-growing developmental disorders in the country, it has historically been underfunded, misunderstood, and under-researched. Championed by Eagles Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie, the Eagles Autism Foundation is dedicated to raising funds for innovative autism research and care programs. Since 2018, more than $22 million has been raised thanks to the generosity of those who have proudly supported the cause in Philadelphia and beyond. By providing critical resources and supporting scientific discoveries, the Eagles Autism Foundation is creating a major shift from awareness to action. In partnership with leading institutions specializing in autism research, the Eagles Autism Foundation is bringing fresh ways of thinking to the medical field. Through year-round fundraising events and initiatives, including the Eagles Autism Challenge, Radiothon, Huddle Up for Autism, Training Camp public practices, 50/50 raffle, and more, every dollar raised supports cutting- edge autism research and care programs. The Foundation has even helped make the experience at Lincoln Financial Field more inclusive by providing guests with a dedicated sensory room, sensory bags, and visual schedules. To ensure that the most qualified projects are being funded, an independent peer review panel comes together every year to evaluate and approve all basic and clinical proposals submitted by the world’s most progressive autism research institutions. As a result of this comprehensive review process, 83 research projects and community grants specializing in the treatment and care of individuals and families affected by autism have been funded by the Eagles Autism Foundation.
